The Bonner County Historical Society invites members and the public to its 2026 Annual
Membership Meeting on Tuesday, April 28 at 5:00 p.m. at The Hive, 207 N. First Avenue in
Sandpoint. The meeting will include board reports, volunteer recognition, and trustee elections
— and its free to attend.
Immediately following, renowned author Jack Nisbet takes the stage to share stories from an
in–progress collection of essays about birds. Nisbet’s love of birds began in childhood, when his
mother and grandmother introduced him to the birds of the Catawba River in the Carolina’s — a
passion that has threaded its way through a celebrated writing career exploring the human and
natural history of the Pacific Northwest. Tickets for the presentation are $18 for adults and $5
for youth 18 and under; BCHS members pay $15, and member youth attend free.
